This was an email that was circulating around my office; I thought it deserved a spot.

Obama/Biden vs McCain/Palin, what if things were switched
around?.....think about it.

Ponder the following:

What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the stage,
including
a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant teenage
daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law
Review?
What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his
graduating class?

What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?

What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a
severe
disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his
standards?

What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long
affair while
he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted
to pain
killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable
organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five?
(The Keating Five were five United States Se nators accused of
corruption
in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the
larger Savings
and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?
What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that
included
disc ipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on
many
occasions, a serious anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer
distribution?

What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?

You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected
reality,
do you really believe the election numbers would b e as close as
they are?

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and
minimizes
positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative
qualities in
another when there is a color difference.

Court Decision Denies Extraordinary Rendition Victims Their Day In Court

ACLU-2/14/08 SAN JOSE, CA - A federal court yesterday bowed to pressure from the Bush administration and dismissed a case against Boeing subsidiary Jeppesen Dataplan, Inc. for the company’s role in the CIA’s “extraordinary rendition” program. The lawsuit, brought by the American Civil Liberties Union, charged that Jeppesen knowingly aided the program by providing flight planning and logistical support services for aircraft and crews used by the CIA to transport victims to U.S.-run prisons or foreign intelligence agencies overseas, where they were subjected to harsh interrogation techniques and torture.

The government intervened in an attempt to block the case, contending that litigation of the case would reveal “state secrets” and harm national security. However, the ACLU’s lawsuit cited abundant evidence that was already in the public domain, including a sworn affidavit by a former Jeppesen employee and flight records confirming Jeppesen’s involvement.

In another development, the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday held a hearing on the bipartisan State Secrets Protection Act, introduced by Senators Edward Kennedy (D-MA) and Arlen Specter (R-PA), The ACLU urges passage of this law, which would require courts to examine classified evidence instead of dismissing cases on the word of the perpetrators themselves, and would prohibit any dismissal prior to discovery.

The following can be attributed to Ben Wizner, staff attorney at the American Civil Liberties Union:

“The court’s decision allows the government to engage in torture, declare it a state secret, and thereby escape any legal scrutiny for its actions. Government officials are quite willing to discuss the CIA’s detention and interrogation of other prisoners, most notably the six Guantánamo detainees charged this week with capital murder. Apparently, the government believes such activities are state secrets only when that claim will help the administration avoid accountability for illegal programs, but not when it will help seek the death penalty for alleged terrorists. Depriving torture victims of their day in court to prevent disclosure of information that the entire world already knows only compounds the brutal treatment our clients endured.”

U.S. Company Claims Clones Human Embryos

Reuters- WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A California company said on Thursday it used cloning technology to make five human embryos, with the eventual hope of making matched stem cells for patients.
Stemagen Corp. in La Jolla, California, destroyed the embryos while testing to make sure they were true clones. But the researchers, based at a fertility center, said they believed their ready source of new human eggs would make their venture a success.
Other experts were skeptical about the claims, published in the journal Stem Cells. If verified, the team would be the first to prove they have cloned human beings as a source of stem cells, the master cells of the body.

Britain, US in talks on international criminal database

The FBI told The Guardian daily of its proposed "Server in the Sky" programme, which would link the policing networks of the United States' allies in the so-called "war on terror" -- the newspaper said that in addition to Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand would be involved.
"Server in the Sky is an FBI initiative designed to foster the advanced search and exchange of biometric information on a global scale," the FBI told the paper.

The Federal Reserve Vs. The United States President? I'm sure you’re asking yourself what is this about? Well, let's get a little background first. JFK was remembered for a lot of things, mostly for the avoiding Cuban Missile Crisis. One tidbit of history that seems to escape JFK movies and documentaries was his goal to bring America's wealth back into the pocket books of its people.
How did he plan to do this you ask? Simple, put the Federal Reserve out of business. It's a popular misconception that the Federal Reserve is a government institution. Not True. The Federal Reserve is a private bank that loans the government money at interest. The government in turn charges you an income tax, which it a violation of the 16th Amendment, to pay back the money it borrowed. All the while the Feds get rich by charging the government interest on money it prints out of thin air.
On June 4, 1963, President Kennedy signed Executive Order 11110 that is little remembered, but still stands today. This Executive Order authorized the Secretary of the Treasury to print Silver Certificates for every ounce of silver the government owned. These new United States Notes where backed by something of real value and interest free to the government, effectively cutting the Fed out of the picture. Five months later Kennedy was assassinated and no more silver certificates were issued. On March 25, 1964, C. Douglas Dillon, the 57th Secretary of the Treasury announced that silver certificates would no longer be redeemable in silver dollars. However, according to the U.S. Treasury's website these silver certificates are still legal tender, even though the government is not obligated to issue out any silver.
This is reminiscent of the Gold Reserve Act of 1934, which required citizens to turn in all their gold and gold certificates to the U.S. Government and be issued paper money of "equal value". This is the point where I ask you the reader to stop and ponder about this for a second:
If paper money was invented to represent specific amounts of gold and silver that was being kept by the government, then why wouldn't the government give you gold and silver for your paper money in return?
The answer is control. If the Feds could only print up enough dollars to equal the government’s gold and silver reserve then they couldn't charge interest because they didn't own the gold and silver. The government could print it's out money based on its gold and silver holdings. Therefore, no Feds= no interest= no income tax = no IRS= more of your money staying home.
As a side note when we go to war, guess where the government gets those $$$. That's right another loan from the Feds. I know some of you are thinking, "The President has to ask Congress for the money, right". Well, what the President is really asking Congress is to sanction passing the bill to you and me. All of those billions and billions of dollars for war are loans, which the taxpayers have to repay.
Kennedy wasn't the first president to go against the mighty Feds. During the Civil War President Lincoln needed money to finance the war. The Bankers who ran the Fed offered Lincoln a loan with 24%-36% interest. Lincoln refused. Eventually, Lincoln was advised to have Congress pass a law authorizing the Treasury to print money. When this law was passed Lincoln printed $4 million worth of interest free "Greenbacks", which paid the troops and bought war supplies. Shortly, after the war was over Lincoln was assassinated.

Boeing Prepares Laser Gunship

Boeing annoucned last month that it has completed it's Advanced Tactical Laser (ATL) system. The 12,000 lbs. module will be mounted on a C-130 military plane. This "Laser Gunship", will produce, "a speed-of-light, precision engagement capability that will dramatically reduce collateral damage," said boeing exec Scott Fancher.

Boeing plans to demonstrate this Star Wars like weapon for the U.S. Air Force sometime in 2008. The ATL is a Chemical Oxygen Iodine Laser (COIL), which means it will use large amounts of hazmat fuels and produce equal amounts of toxic crap every time it gets fired. Boeings says however, they have this problem covered. The ATL's COIL is "closed -cycle", keeping it's deadly exhaust products contained.

-News.com- FEDS taking pictures? Naw, they're tapping your mic. The FBI are using cell phone mics not only to eavesdrop on your conversations but they can listen to any conversation around the phone, even when the phone is OFF!
U.S. District Judege Lewis Kaplan ruled that the "roving bug" was legal because federal wiretapping law is broad enough to permit eavesdropping even of conversations that take place near a suspect's cell phone.

North American Union

Maybe you've heard of this, maybe you haven't. The Security and Prosperity Partnership, commonly reffered to as the "North American Union" (NAU) , was a partnership made on March 23, 2005 in Waco, Texas between President Bush, Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin, and former Mexican President Vicente Fox. The highlights of this meeting, which was not presented before Congress or the public, was to:

• Create one border around the whole North American continent.
• Replace the American & Canadian Dollar along with the Peso, for the Amero.
• Create free trade within it's borders.
• Unite all armed forces.

The assumed idea here is the NAU is to emulate and challenge the European Union. This plan is beginning to materialize with the Trans Texas Corridor. The downside is if left unabated millions of American jobs will be lost cheap Mexican labor. The format is to import cheap goods from China and instead of unloading them in U.S. ports, like San Fransico, they will be unloaded in Mexico and driven and disbursed all the way up to Canada.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the whole idea with little major media coverage. With continual support by the White House, Mexican trucks are delievering there goods well into the US, despite a Congressional ban. Coupled with the administration's inactivity on enforcing boarder security and proposed amensty policy for illegal immigrants, it seems the Executive Branch is well on it's way in making the NAU a not to distant reality.
